Contact // one mailbox, read by a person
There is one address and no form
Everything reaches [email protected]. There is no contact form on this website, no chat widget and no telephone number, because a company with nothing shipped should not pretend to a switchboard it does not have.
1What to put in the subject line
One mailbox works only if messages can be sorted. These subject lines are the ones the privacy policy and the terms refer to, so using them puts your message on the right clock.
| If you are writing about | Subject line | Response |
|---|---|---|
| Access to personal information we hold about you | Privacy request | 30 days |
| Correction of personal information we hold about you | Privacy request | 30 days |
| Deletion of what we hold about you | Delete my data | 30 days |
| A complaint about our handling of personal information | Privacy complaint | Acknowledged in 5 business days, answered in 30 days |
| A suspected security problem with this website or our mail | Security | Same or next business day |
| A small practice describing how it finds clauses today | Practice | 5 business days |
| Press, or a question about anything on this site | Anything sensible | 5 business days |
2Please do not send us client documents
Important // unsolicited material is destroyed
This is the one request worth making loudly. Do not attach an executed contract, a client file, a matter number or anything covered by legal professional privilege to an email to this company. There is nothing here to run it through, and we do not want it.
Where personal information arrives that we did not ask for, Australian Privacy Principle 4 applies and the material is destroyed once we have decided we could not have collected it under Australian Privacy Principle 3. In practice that means the attachment is deleted from the mailbox, and the substance of your question is dealt with without it. That process is set out in full in the privacy policy.
If you want to describe a document, describe it in words. That is enough for any conversation worth having at this stage.

4Service of documents
We do not publish a postal address on this website. Australian law requires a company to state its name and ACN on public documents, and both are on every page of this site, but it does not require the registered office to be published online.
If a document has to be served on the company, its registered office is recorded against ACN 698 421 608 on the register maintained by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission. That is the address with legal effect for service, it is authoritative, and it stays correct if the company moves.
5What writing to us does not do
- It does not subscribe you to a mailing list. There is no list. The company has never sent a marketing email and, if it ever does, it will be opt in with the consent recorded.
- It does not create a lawyer and client relationship, because we are not lawyers and cannot create one.
- It does not create a contract for the supply of anything.
- It does not put you in a queue for a product, unless you ask for that in the message, in which case we will note the address for that single purpose.
Mail is retained while a conversation is open and for a period afterwards, as set out in the retention section of the privacy policy. You can ask us to delete a thread at any time and we will, subject only to anything we are required by law to keep.
